New Light Theatre is now accepting submissions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, by William Finn, Rachel Sheinkin, and Rebecca Feldman, in support of Children and Families First, September 16-October 4, at Delaware Theatre Company in Wilmington, DE, directed by Lena Mucchetti, with music direction by Tom Mucchetti and choreography by Taylor J. Mitchell. 

New Light Theatre brings the poignant pandemonium of the Tony Award winning musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, to the Delaware Theatre Company stage. Join six quirky competitors as they vie for the championship title with heart, hilarity, and a few awkward spells.

Seeking submissions from artists of all ages, gender, sexual, and racial identities for all roles in the production. All roles paid, nonunion stipends starting at $2,500, AEA contracts also available. Please note, NLT is unable to offer housing to out of town actors, therefore only actors with access to local housing are encouraged to submit.

Rehearsals for Spelling Bee will take place weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons in Wilmington, DE, beginning in August, and performances September 16-October 4.

To be considered, please submit headshot, resume, and a video of 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show to Artistic Director, Lena Mucchetti at lena@newlighttheatre.com, no later than April 15. In person callbacks, by invitation only, will follow.
