The New Light Theatre family has work to do to build the world we want to see and celebrate, on our stage, and outside of the theatre walls. We realize that active antiracism is a journey, and we are committed to undertaking that journey as we learn and grow. We invite you to join us, and have compiled the below list of resources and action items as meaningful starting points.
For Black History Month 2021, New Light Theatre went on a journey through history celebrating Black Theatre-Makers. Every week we shared important moments in Black Theatre History and contributions by Black artists, as well as resources for further education. Click on the image to learn more.
We also encourage you to show our local Black Theatre Artists some love by considering a donation to the Black Theatre Alliance of Philadelphia.
