NLT R&J poster final - UPDATED DATES_edited.jpg

In this fast-paced, electric adaptation of Shakespeare's classic, four young prep school students, tired of going through the usual drill of conjugating Latin and other tedious school routines, discover a copy of Romeo and Juliet, and take turns reading the play aloud. Swept away by the thrilling words, they break school rules in order to continue their readings, and the boundaries between make-believe and reality become blurred, as emotions expand beyond the confines of the text and into the real world. As Shakespeare's language sparks a real-time journey of self-discovery for the boys, the explosive consequences of forbidden love must be confronted head on.

Shakespeare's R&J will run March 23-27 at OperaDelaware Studios in Wilmington, DE. Show times are all 7:30PM except for Sunday March 27 at 4:00PM. Tickets are on sale now!

Proof of vaccination is required upon entry. Masks must be worn inside the building.

New Light Theatre is committed to bringing light to the darkness of the world, to raising awareness and support for organizations that illuminate, and to deepening our empathy and connection with one another through meaningful artistic work.
